Great News!

We got the results for Wayne's MRI today. The doctors compared the new MRI that he had Monday with the ones that were done in January. The left back artery in Wayne's neck that was totally blocked in January has now partially opened up. There also isn't any evidence of new strokes. The doctor recommended that he replace the Coumadin with a baby aspirin instead.

Wayne really wants to get out in the yard and work but it's going to take some time for him to get his strength back. Today he went out and pulled a bucket of weeds and came back in the house totally exhausted. His balance still isn't that great so he needs to take it easy and be really careful to make sure that he doesn't fall again. He's still using a cane to prevent him from falling backwards. Since Wayne has been resting on the couch the past 3 1/2 months to make sure the artery healed, it's going to take some time for his energy levels to return.

Wayne is getting acquainted with his brother-in-law, Brad's horses and dogs in the photos.

Thank you so much for all your concern, thoughts, and prayers!!!

Miracles really do happen!

Hi Kathy

I am so pleased that Wayne is doing well, he is constantly in my thoughts. I think the world of him. He has given me so much pleasure with his music through the years, knowing the family care so much about the fans has gotten me through some tough times in my life and they still do.

Give Wayne my love and best wishes. I understand that it's hard when you want to do things but your body won't let you. I have trouble with my back and sometimes have to crawl around. It's so frustrating. I know he will do well because he has you to look after him. Please keep us up to date with his progress. You take care too, as I know how hard it is to look after others. Love to you all. Helen x

Wayne, u need to build up your strength gradually! Especially your leg muscles since you were recumbent for so long & those large muscles that hold u up become deconditioned quickly. So, PLEASE be patient & gentle with yourself, & you'll see a gradual return of strength & endurance. In the meantime, my thoughts, prayers, love are with you always & with your sweet wife. God bless the care giver. U both are loved. --Jenny

I will continue to pray for Wayne's health to get better. Wayne was a walking miracle over 15 years ago, I knew he could beat this.

Praying for that artery to open completely and the return of his strength. Thanking God for the miracle he has done.

Ps Kathy I bet you could give some very good advice on having a spouse with medical problems. Maybe you could write a article on:

When a loved one is sick how do you help without bruising their pride?

GREAT NEWS!! And there are people that do not think prayer and faith do not work. It must be hard on Wayne to "take it slow" when all he probably does is think of things he can do, build or work on with his tools?!He is so lucky to have a wife like you Kathy -seeing that he takes it slow must be a chore.I still add you two in my prayers and thank you both for sharing your lives with all of us - you are such a great example for us all.

OH YEA - this is WONderful news. Thank you so much for letting us know. That's great news Kathy. Tell him to be patient - the weeds in the back yard are not going anywhere - they will still be there when he is feeling stronger. I have had a tough 12 months and the weeds are still there in my back yard!!!

Missed you Wayne in the UK. It just wasn't the same without you.

My Mum had a stroke last year. It's hard to see this new person emerge from what was always "my Mum" but I'm actually loving her less inhibited style. Before you could never tell if you had hurt her feelings or upset her-she is a very caring careful person with others. Now it shows straight away & you know she is upset or angry or sad.
It's the chronic pain she is suffering that makes life hard-she was pain free & more mobile straight after her stroke like something had unblocked. Now the pain has intensified but she bears it with great stoicism. She's my heroine & despite suffering so much pain & loss during her life she is not bitter or unkind-Heavenly Father is looking forward to seeing her again -He is missing one of His angels.
Glad that Wayne is making good progress keep going Wayne-your family need you.
