As I mentioned before, my favorite part of the Book of Mormon is when Jesus Christ appears to the people in the Americas. The resurrected Lord taught the people the Beatitudes, the correct mode of baptism and other doctrine so the people would know how to live to be his true disciples. As I studied his teachings and doctrine in Third Nephi, I learned more about the Savior's character and how I can try to emulate his example and become more like Him.
Wayne and I are a couple chapters ahead in our reading. We should all be reading Mormon Chapter 2 today and starting Ether Chapter 1 on August 2nd. We'll be finishing the Book of Ether on August 16th. We hope many of you have hung in there and are still reading with us. Let us know and please feel free to share what you have learned and how you have applied it to your life.

I'm still reading, also 1 chapter ahead. :o) Like you, I also loved to read about the resurrection of Christ and how he taught the people how to live the right way. I will have to read this book one more time next year, because there's so much information that is new for me. Won't mind though! :o)

In 2010 I made a commitment to my self I would read the scriptures everyday. BUT with reading it with you guys this time, I listened to it rather than just reading through it and I gained so much more!! Through out my reading, sometimes a scripture would just jump out at me. I would copy it and paste it into my journal I keep online. It really helped me to see the Gospel in action. I think I have learned to have more faith, to serve more, and when I see the turmoil in today's world I think of the Book of Mormon and the wars that went on. I know that when I try to stay obedient the best I can, the blessings will be there. Our society and world is such a mess. One thing I have learned is to try and keep the contention and bitterness out of my life and it starts with being positive rather than negative. I think the faith I have learned in the Book of Mormon has helped me with this tremendously!! Thanks Wayne and Kathy for doing this for us!! It's been fun and rewarding for me!!
